Last weekend I ventured into the field of wedding photography. This is a game I don't often play, and had enlisted the help of a former student and excellent photographer, Sarah Holmes (http://www.sarahholmesphoto.com) to help cover the wedding. I wouldn't exactly say she was an "assistant" as we both certainly pulled equal weight throughout the evening. It was a beautiful wedding, and quite organized compared to others I have seen recently. Anger + Courage = Hope now is not the time for complacency and despair

Please join us at the Powerhouse in Oxford, MS on Wednesday, April 30 for New Docs: An evening of student produced documentary films. All films were produced by currently enrolled students at @southernstudies and @theatrefilmatum. The program includes new entries into the Mississippi Creates collection documenting Mississippi-based visual artists Bill Beckwith and Hayden Hall and musicians @twurtchamberlain and Tim and Susan Lee. Thanks to @yacartscouncil for their support of these films and this screening event.

TLDR: Go see @secretmallapartment if it’s playing anywhere near you. As someone who visited friends living at Fort Thunder a few times, it was totally mind blowing to see that place on the big screen. I knew the story of the apartment and was curious how it would play out as a feature documentary. What I didn’t expect is that @jeremyworkman_ has made a film that shows how artists view the world, the role artists play in society, and how real lives experiences impact us as humans. Incredible film! If I didn’t already say it go see it.

I am honored to be in Wilmington, NC today screening @ejdocumentary at @ncblackfilm . If you have friends in this region please encourage them to come out and support this great festival.

Annual burning of bad juju 🔥

Fantastic night at University of Georgia @eecp_uga screening Our Movement Starts Here on Tuesday, March 11. The discussions around the film have taken a very different tone in the past month and this event was no exception. To quote Patrick Barnes the science advisor that worked with the Warren County community and appears in the film “Communities and grassroots stakeholders will need to lead the charge in all ways towards environmental restoration and equity. We can no longer rely on the government for much.”

Thanks to @southgeorgiafilm for including my two films @ejdocumentary and Warp Weft Water Weeds in your 2025 festival program. It was a great weekend interacting with filmmakers and students from around the South.

Proud to announce WARP WEFT WATER WEEDS the short documentary about artist Elizabeth Bradford @_elizabethbradford will show this weekend at the South Georgia Film Festival @southgeorgiafilm in Valdosta, GA and again in April at Underexposed Film Festival @underexposedfilmfestivalyc in Rock Hill, SC. The film was made as a collaboration between filmmaker and Assistant Professor John Rash @documentarypunk and @davidsoncollegeartgalleries

The short documentary I produced about visual artist @_elizabethbradford is currently on display at @davidsoncollegeartgalleries as part of Elizabeth’s WARP WEFT WATER WEEDS exhibit. Announcing a new short documentary about North Carolina-based artist @_elizabethbradford who will open her solo show at @davidsoncollegeartgalleries next Thursday, February 13 with opportunities to view the film. The film was produced and directed by @documentarypunk in association with @davidsoncollegeartgalleries and @liarosenewman and features an original score by Allison Friday.
