NC11 Mile by Mile

55 Digital Photographs (North Carolina, USA ©2017)

Known for hog farms, corn fields, and swampy wetlands, the North Carolina Coastal Plain differs vastly from the central Piedmont and western Mountain regions of the state.  NC 11, one of the state's original highways first constructed in 1921, bisects the heart of this diverse rural landscape largely away from highly populated areas. For the sake for project, the 55 mile piece of the highway connecting Kinston with I-40 acts as the compass for the methodical process of documenting Eastern North Carolina one photograph per mile, one stop at a time.
